WATER RESCUE PROGRAMS

Ocean Rescue Systems offers a variety of in-water and shoreline rescue training programs for Public Safety department members. All of our courses have a set core of  knowledge and skills, but still allow time and opportunity for customizing to your specific response requirements. Entire water rescue courses may be formulated to your specifications. Most are available in 1 to 3-day formats and may be combined to cover a range of skills and techniques over 2 to 5 days. Technician Level programs typically cover 5 - 6 days of training.
Water Rescue - Awareness Level  Basic water safety and rescue training is a must for any department having a mandate to respond to water remergencies. All  responding members should be certified to at least this basic level, as stated by the NFPA. This 8-hour program meets the standard of NFPA 1670 at the Awareness level.

Water Rescue - Operations Level Departments conducting water rescue operations where rescuers enter the water for hands on or swimming rescues, or use boats as part of the rescue operation should have individuals qualified to the Operations Level. All Ocean Rescue 3-day courses meet and exceed NFPA 1670 standards for Operations Level.

                                           Basic Core Programs                                            

Public Safety Rescue Swimmer

Intensive training to develop the skills needed for small-boat deployed or shore deployed rescue swimmers. This newly lengthened program is 5 days long  plus 1-2 night sessionss and exceeds NFPA standards for Operations and Technician levels. Real world training for real world rescue taught by highly experienced, working Rescue Swimmers.

Surf and Shoreline

For those teams working rocky and surf-washed shorelines, this 1-2 day program will make the job easier and much safer. Great techniques training. Meets NFPA standards for Awareness and Operations levels.

Swiftwater Rescue

River currents, rapids and eddies may produce hazardous rescue conditions requiring specialized training. What are your options? River rescue programs are available at the NFPA Awareness, Operations and Technician level.

Surface Ice Rescue

The rescue of persons who have fallen through ice endangers all on-scene personnel. Swift and appropriate action can save a life. Ice rescue is water rescue. Awareness and Operations Levels.
